Having graduated from University College London in 1993, Penny-Anne went on to study as a Postgraduate at the National Hospital, Queen’s Square, London and The Michael Palin Centre for Stammering Children.

Her clinical roles have included:

  • Specialist advisor and therapist in paediatric voice and fluency in the Kent and Canterbury Trust

  • Paediatric Stammering, SLT, and Language Units at South Warwickshire NHS trusts

  • Community Voice and Adult Stroke outpatient at Birmingham Heartlands

  • Adult and Paediatric Voice Clinics at Birmingham Heartlands and Worcester Royal Hospitals

  • Private Practise at Spire and Nuffield Hospitals in Birmingham, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire as part of a multidisciplinary team of ENT Surgeons, Neurologists, Audiologists and GPs

Penny-Anne is Laryngeal Manipulation practitioner (sometimes referred to as laryngeal manual therapy or manual circumlaryngeal therapy), having completed her training with Jacob Lieberman, Professor Ed Blake (Physio Ed) and Walt Fritz (Physio).

Penny-Anne provides Auditory Processing Difficulty assessments and reports and is a JohansenIAS practitioner offering the JAIS programme of support.

Penny-Anne has a strong track record in SEND advocacy, collaborating with Councils nationwide. As a former Chair of The Children and Young Persons Panel, Warwickshire, Penny-Anne has a detailed understanding of the challenges of the SEND system for both families and schools. She therefore offers robust EHCP assessments and SLT contributions, as well as proven success in EHCP Tribunals.

 

Penny-Anne also does Medico-Legal case work, collaborating with Case Managers across Medico-Legal firms, including Speed Medical. She is Bond Solon trained.

 

With a special interest in professional voice Penny-Anne studied with the National Youth Theatre, Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, Cameron Mackintosh Productions on Tour and the Royal Shakespeare Company both in Stratford-upon-Avon and London.

Penny-Anne is a member of the Association for Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practise, the Royal College for Speech and Language Therapists, the British Stammering Association and is a member of the British Voice Association Council.
