Voice Therapies
We often come across benign voice issues stemming from vocal misuse, overuse or minor irritations all of which are treatable with therapy. We also work with progressive neurological conditions and stroke patients (excluding dysphagia). Examples of benign conditions we see and treat are: vocal nodules, polyps, cysts, glottic chink, functional dysphonia, laryngitis, long Covid, menopausal voice, chronic cough, laryngeal hypersensitivity and laryngopharyngeal reflux.
Breathe Your Way to Calmness Programme
With breath being our lifeforce, the power of the Breathe Your Way to Calmness Programme cannot be underestimated. From reducing anxiety to increasing vocal stability, the Programme quick and easy tools and techniques for everyday application.
Laryngeal Manipulation
A highly specialised, in person only intervention used for voice loss connected to muscle tension dysphonia (MTD); also used for globus and for singers' and performers' general voice wellbeing (a vocal MOT!). Penny-Anne O'Donnell has the training and experience to provide a highly effective, precise and gentle laryngeal manipulation. She has completed training with Jacob Lieberman, Professor Ed Blake (Physio Ed) and Walt Fritz (Physio).
Stammering
We help you regain confidence in fluent communication. Drawing on various evidence-based methods (e.g. the Camperdown Programme ) - we tailor sessions to reduce stammering frequency and severity while building lasting skills. The types of stammering addressed are: developmental stammering persistent from childhood, acquired stammering (adult onset), and cluttering (rapid and irregular speech).
Singers and Performers
Working with singers from opera to rock Voice Vitality belnds science and soul to free the voice. Using Semi-Occluded Vocal Tract (SOVT) exercises, gentle laryngeal release, the Accent method of breathing, and expressive techniques inspired by primal voice work and Estill's holistic approach, each session invites balance, freedom and authentic sound. We also provide on-site warm-up and warm-down pre- and post performance.
